Our Goals
Smith-Hale Middle School will provide every student with the opportunity to:
1. Acquire basic skills in obtaining information, solving problems, thinking critically, and communicating effectively.
2. Acquire the knowledge, understanding, and skills that permit his or her participation in a satisfying and responsible role in our society.
3. Acquire the ability to form satisfying and responsible relationships with a wide range of people, including those with social and cultural characteristics different from his or her own.
4. Develop effective work habits and self-discipline.
5. Encourage responsibility in each student as a contributing member of his or her family and community.
6. Promote respect and appreciation for self and others.
7. Encourage ethical behavior based on a sense of what our community feels necessary to make a positive impact in the twenty-first century.
8. Learn to enjoy the processes of learning, and to acquire the skills necessary for a lifetime of continuous learning and adaptation to change, and to use leisure time constructively.
9. Develope a sense of self-worth via encouraging students to actively participate in community service programs/projects.
